Disabled Athletes

WELCOME TO ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES!

Run In Lyon by Harmonie Mutuelle is a running festival for everyone!

That's why our team is working hard to help people with a wide range of disabilities to take part in the distance of their choice.

You'll find more information on how to register below.

HOW TO TAKE PART WITH A JOËLETTE/HIPPOCAMPE?

Accompanied by a crew, you can take part in Run in Lyon. We're delighted to receive so many applications!
However, for safety reasons within the pack, we will have to rotate the applications from one year to the next to enable everyone to take part.
There will be no specific ranking.
You must start at the back of the pack for greater comfort and safety.

  • REGISTRATION

Your registration is free, but there is a charge for accompanying persons.

The event is organised in accordance with World Para Athletics (WPA) rules, which expressly forbid any participant from being pushed by a third party, as this is defined as assistance.

- You must be able to take part in Run In Lyon by Harmonie Mutuelle on your own.

-  You must have a valid licence or a Health Prevention Course, which has replaced the medical certificate since 2024. Any participant exceeding the maximum time allowed for the chosen distance will be disqualified. To receive the finisher's medal, you must finish the race before the official time limit.

  • Are you a visually impaired athlete?

You can run on your own or be accompanied by a guide. Register normally in the airlock that corresponds to your time objective. You will be integrated into the peloton, but your start can be arranged on the spot in the free time between two airlocks or at the back of the previous airlock.

  • Are you a T52, T53 or T54 athlete with a licence from the Fédération Française Handisport (FFH)?

You can take part in the race in a wheelchair if you have a national classification. Only WPA-approved racing wheelchairs are permitted. Motorised devices, handbikes or any other geared device are not permitted. According to WPA rules, you must be self-sufficient at refuelling points and in the event of a puncture. However, cyclists will be supervising the race and will be able to intervene if necessary.

Registration is free for FFH-licensed athletes and guides.
