What?
As part of Run in Lyon, races for younger runners are also being organised before the event.
Why?
The aim is to introduce kids to running and raise awareness of the importance of sport in general, by giving younger runners the opportunity to take part in this festival of running in their own way.
When & Where?
The Marathoon's will take place on Saturday 5 October, on Place Bellecour from 2pm to 5pm.
- 2.30pm: 5-6 year old race (1 loop - 400m)
- 3pm: 7-8 years old race (2 loops - 800m)
- 3.30pm: 9-10 years old race (3 loops - 1200m)
- 16:00: 11-12 years old race (4 loops - 1600m)
Children must arrive no later than 30 minutes before the start.
How?
It's a free event, open to children aged 5 to 12, and there's no timed race. There are 4 different distances for each age group, and each participant receives a medal.
Registration & Bib?
Online registrations for the Marathoon's will be available until Thursday 3 October at 8pm on time to. After this date, registrations will be made directly:
- On Marathoon's point in the village, on Friday 4 October from 10am to 7pm and Saturday 5 October from 10am to 2pm.
- On Marathoon's entertainment zone on Place Bellecour Saturday 5 October from 2pm to 4pm.
